Terms of Service

Effective date: March 23, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LetsInvoiceBetter ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered account holders, and paying subscribers.

Description of Service

LetsInvoiceBetter is a web-based platform that lets you create invoices and quotes, manage customer records, and accept payments. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for business use by freelancers, sole traders, and small businesses.

Accounts

You may use certain features as a guest without creating an account. To save and manage your data long-term, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

Free and Paid Plans

LetsInvoiceBetter offers a free tier with limited features and a paid subscription with expanded capabilities. Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis. By upgrading, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on the billing cycle you select.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.

Payments Collected on Your Behalf

The Service integrates with Stripe and PayPal to allow your clients to pay invoices directly. You are responsible for ensuring your invoices are accurate and that you are entitled to collect the amounts stated. LetsInvoiceBetter is not a party to any transaction between you and your clients and assumes no liability for disputes, chargebacks, or failed payments.

You are solely responsible for complying with any tax collection, reporting, or remittance obligations associated with your invoices.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Create fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading invoices
  • Harass, impersonate, or defraud any person or entity
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation, including tax law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our infrastructure
  • Introduce malware, spam, or any code intended to disrupt the Service
  • Use automated scripts to scrape or stress-test the platform without permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any violation of these rules without prior notice.

Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you input into the Service — your invoices, customer records, and business information. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the Service to you. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

Intellectual Property

The LetsInvoiceBetter platform, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy of any document generated through the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LetsInvoiceBetter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50 USD if you have not made any payments.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we believe your account poses a risk of fraud or harm, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will revise the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify registered users via email.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Macomb County, Michigan.
